She shared with our students the dangers of using plastic bag to humans, animals and to our environment as a whole. Given below are some pictures of this session.

Summative Task
As the Summative Task for How We Express Ourselves, students have been given a choice of activities; they may either write a play script, perform a pantomime or do a role play. Students were given the choice of working in pairs or in groups (max 4-5 persons/group).
Students will start working on their summative task from next week.
Pantomime performance on 12th March.
Role-play performance on 13th March.
Play scripts to displayed in the grade level foyer.
Play script:
Students choosing to write a play script will write at least 3 scenes. Their play script must include the key components of a play script- setting, plot, characters, problems, solution and moral of the story.
Pantomime:
For the Pantomime, the students need to wear the following- black/white stripes T-shirt or black shirt/T-shirt and black pants/shorts. Girls can wear skirts or black dresses with shorts or leggings underneath. White gloves will be provided by the teachers.
As pantomime works on facial expressions, our students will be required to have make-up on their faces-white grease paint over the face, thick black eyeliner with stylized “tears” running to about the middle of the cheekbones, dark painted-on eyebrows, and black or dark red lipstick. They can also try small circles of light pink blush for a happy or girlish mime.
The following items are needed for the makeup as makeup will be done in class –
- Face paint and sponge pieces to apply the white paint
- Eye brow pencil and Lipstick (any brand)
- White cloth gloves
Students allergic to face paint/makeup can wear plain white masks
Some ideas for pantomime makeup-
Role Play:
Students choosing to act out a role play will prepare a play script with at least 2 scenes. Their play must include the key components of a play – setting, plot, characters, problems, solution and moral of the story.
Students are advised to prepare costumes (simple ones) and props to bring their characters to life.
Parents, over the next few days, please assist your child to prepare the costumes and props for their performance. Students can wear their costumes from home on the day of the performance.

Habitat for Humanity
Dear Parents,
Today,we had a very informative guest session, conducted by Habitat for Humanity.
They shared the work that they do in Indonesia-buildings homes for the poor/people affected by disasters.
We would like to thank Gentaro Gani (of 3A) and his parents who not only helped us in getting in touch with this NGO but also played an important role during today’s session.
As an action plan for today’s session, your child has been given a “house bank”. Please help your child in collecting money in this “house bank”. Our students can keep these “house banks” till the end of January’18. After this, we will collect all the “house banks” and hand these over to Habitat for Humanity.
We hope that collectively, we all can gather a good amount which can help in building someone’s house.
Your support for this project is highly appreciated.
Thanks
Regards,
Grade 3 Teachers
